About David Pibworth

David is an actor and stage director mainly working in the field of light entertainment.

His company represents the scripts of Galton and Simpson (Steptoe and Son and Tony Hancock.)

He is also the artistic director of an open air theatre, the Arches, which is underneath a disused railway line equidistant from Northampton, Bedford and Milton Keynes, where there is a season of shows between July and September each year.

He worked as an 'Ugly Sister' for many years every December and is something of an expert on stage illusions and comedy stage magic.

He also plays with a comedy jazz band (in the style of The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band) and they worked with Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk and Terry Lightfoot, plus Chas and Dave and various others of that ilk. They still occasionally play local events.

David has also been involved in the production of shows with Norman Wisdom (many years ago!) Joe Pasquale and Al Murray amongst others.

David is married with one daughter and they live on a farm surrounded by dogs and horses.

David made one foray into Shakespeare as Stephano, the drunk butler in The Tempest in London and a tour of France in 2011. The classical actors enjoyed working with him despite his warm up technique consisting of reading Private Eye and smoking rollups.
