About CAROL ANN HAYES

I am a writer and former Principal Lecturer in childhood studies at Staffordshire University, specialising in cognitive and language development. My publications include: Measuring the Impact ofd Dyslexia (2021) Developmental Dyslexia from Birth to 8 (2018) Language Literacy and Communication (2016) Developing as a REflective Practitioner (2017) and awaiting publication March 2023, Early Years Handbook Handbook . Numerous contributory chapters and articles. I was previously a teacher and have spent a lifetime in the teaching profession in schools colleges and universities. I am an experienced speaker, passionate about getting the message about dyslecia in young children out to as many people as possible in a user friendly manner, to both those with knowledge of the area and those who are just interested. My talks are entertaining and accessible but also informative and potentially life changing. So often, after a talk, people will come up to me and say that they now think that they may be dyslexic and what a relief it is to know at last. I am happy to speak to large or small groups and to travel within the North Wales and Cheshire area.
