Growing up in the 1960's was certainly an experience. From the mass post war back to back housing and surviving on limited funds, this presentation follows the exploits of a child whose sole aim was to make his mark in society. Based on the real life of the presenter, it brings humour, and many happy memories flooding back to those who see it. With music, film, animation and a host of mad cap ideas, this is truly a walk down memory lane.

About Professor Ian Maber

My name is Ian Maber.

After teaching for over 20 years and travelling the world, working with many high profile companies in technology and the entertainment industry for another 12 years, I have now decided to take an early retirement and relax a little more.

During my career I have been involved with some of the most well know names in entertainment and high end technology inc -Disney, Dreamworks, Sony, BBC. Apple, Microsoft and Intel.

I was the co-creator of a multi award winning software -nominated for a BAFTA.

Having worked in over 43 countries and lived in several including India, Canada. New Zealand and the U.S. I have always been interested in storytelling and presenting. I love to create worlds of imagination and take the audience on a journey, so they can become immersed in the story.

I have written several short stories, plays, novels and a series of sit com scripts. I am currently working on a series of animated short stories for children. During lockdown I wrote and played some pieces of music, to keep my creative side alert. these are on Youtube under my name and free to listen to. My life and times have featured in an article in my Local Press (Grantham Journal), on Gravity FM and I have been featured on the ‘Real Lives’ program on BBC radio.

I started my talks in 2016 and average 30-35 per year. So, avoid disappointment please book early.

THE TELLER OF TALES.

Having experienced a number of speakers throughout my career, many of whom were quite traditional, I felt that it would be more entertaining to take this whole concept and create a new exciting format. Because we age and lose our abilities to do things, something we retain is our sense of humour.

My presentations include animation, sound, humorous tales all designed to keep the audience captivated and laughing as they experience the world of The Teller of Tales.

Talk Topics are a combination of storytelling and humour. Each one is unique and highly visual.

Many of my talks follow the exploits and adventures of an individual as he deals with life’s ups and downs, whilst others focus on a specific topics looking at the funny side of life.

All the presentations are ideal for old and young alike, and each comes with supporting visuals and special effects.

Quiz Topics are designed to provide fun, and entertainment, whilst getting the brain cells working! (ha ha) Each one focuses on a different topic, but all follow this uniquely developed style. (The Christmas quiz will test your knowledge, whilst having a great deal of fun- this is ideal for fun raising events)

I'm sure you will be captivated, entertained and leave your event laughing all the way home.

Hope to see you soon.

Ian
