This talk describes my memories of the Middle Eastern countries such as Iraq- Bagdad, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, Africa West and South during a time when many people hadn't heard of such places and as visitors in these countries, we could roam at will around the Pyramids, Petra, Ur, and the drive our own car around the National parks of Africa, Swaziland, and Nigeria often being the only Westerners in the vicinity. The talk is accompanied by relics of the Past, and my large scrapbook showing Africa as it was in the pre-70's. Questions are gladly invited.

About Tracy Shipley

Born in Dulwich, London, although my family hail from Christchurch, Dorset. I began my traveling days in Nigeria, at the age of 2 1/2 and have since travelled to over * 42 countries * staying various lengths of time from a lunch to 5 years. I have written up an account of my travel escapades around India & I have published a book on Incidences an Co-incidences whilst traveling alone both in the UK and overseas. For the Swimfun Experience: I qualified as a professional swim teacher in 1986 and have written The Swimfun trilogy (Amazon) adults to use as a fun guide so they can enjoy spending time in the water with their children aged from 5 weeks to 9 years. The talks are delivered with lots of enthusiasm mainly aimed at adults, and for schools year 5 upwards with time for questions. Hopefully, they are there to inspire everyone to follow their dreams - whatever they may be. I am currently based in Dorchester, Dorset.
