About Jane Barnes

Dairy farmers wife, Jane Barnes shares her tales of life on her family’s farm near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. All their milk is sold to be made into blue Stilton Cheese locally. The 280 herd of Ayrshires and Friesian cows produce this special milk from a grass based system. Hear all about milking their cows and breeding baby calves and their bulls! She also has a Cow Classroom built next to the milking parlour for visitors to see it in action during her Farm Tours. Over 20 years of speaking, mainly to WIs, U3As and Probus, this experienced speaker has many funny stories and real life anecdotes to share and learn all about milk production in the 21st century!

If requested, Jane can bring some cheese to sell at the end of her talk. All the milk produced on her farm is made into Leicestershire’s famous Blue Stilton!
