We first discovered Zoom at the start of lockdown and we thought wow, what a fantastic way of keeping in touch. You just click on the link, and off you go. That was before George a friend and fellow Hearing Ambassador said something to make us change our mind. He told us that he was so sorry but as we could only meet on Zoom during the pandemic, it would be impossible for him to continue with us. He explained to us that he couldn’t cope with video conferences. He had tried them, but he hated the chaos of people talking over one another which meant that he couldn’t understand what was being said so there was really no point in joining us. That got us to thinking about the ways that we could do to help him and the thousands of other people who are in a similar situation.
You will learn how to frame your image and use light and sound to the best advantage. We also look at the use of tools such as screen sharing, chat, breakout rooms, polling and we give our delegates a chance to try out some of the rich features for themselves. There is plenty of food for thought for hosts and co-hosts as well as people who would normally only participate in online meetings. Our aim is that delegates will go away confident in using the tools.
Our expert facilitators are all volunteers for the Hearing Ambassadors.
