The inspirational story of the bravery of Violette Szabo, a Special Operations Executive (SOE) in WW2, her brief marriage to Etienne Szabo, a French Legionnaire, before he was killed in El Alamein, her motivation to be selected by the SOE, the training involved, her 2 missions into France, her capture by the Germans, her imprisonment and execution in Ravensbruck concentration camp in 1945, the award of the George Cross gallantry medal to her 4 year old daughter Tania and how her memory is now commemorated.

After retiring from the Army he was appointed as CEO of a charity covering Leics and Rutland which supported rural communities. In this role he facilitated 6 successful bids to the Lottery for over £1m. In 2013 in order to help communities in their own commemoration of the 100th anniversary of WW1 he developed the “Sacrifice and Remembrance” project delivering presentations on that theme - www.sacrificeandremembrance.com. After retiring from the charity after 18 years he has further developed this project and now presents on 14 different topics. To date these talks have been given in over 450 venues to 16,000 people. As a result of the Covid - 19 crisis he has been offering these presentations via Zoom across the country. He does these presentations entirely on a voluntary basis but encourages donations to Combat Stress - The Veterans Mental Health Charity. To date he has raised over £26,000 for Combat Stress. He now lives in Southsea Hants
