Some extreme places are a real problem for getting plants to flourish.

I will make suggestions for solutions mostly from clients' gardens for places such as dry soil, sandy soil, heavy clay soil, exposed sites, coastal gardens, river banks, paving cracks, wet gardens, tiny gardens, deep shade and more.

Let me know what particular troubles you have in your area and I will focus some of the talk on solutions just for you.

About Katherine Crouch

A lifelong gardener with a Product Design degree, I won BBC Gardener of the Year in 1999, BBC Gardener of the Decade in 2008 and a Gold Medal at Chelsea Flower Show. I design gardens and give several talks, mostly to garden clubs all over the South West. I reveal the world behind the scenes at Gardeners' World, whether Alan Titchmarsh dyes his hair and the secrets of Charlie Dimmock's underwear drawer.

Testimonials

Thanks Katherine that was great. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed your talk as I am sure you could tell and lots of them said you were the best speaker ever - and we have had a few!! So thank you so much. Best wishes Sheila

Our members will look forward to your return as your talk was the best received and most talked about this year.....no pressure for the next one! Best wishes, Sibley Orsler – Chulmleigh and District near Tiverton, July 2017, rebooked for July 2018

We enjoyed your Zoom talk on rewilding Crewkerne - it was informative and also hilarious as none of us were used to Zoom...so it felt like being back in primary school...hands up if you want to ask a question...don't all speak at once! We will have to get used to this... Sue Ayers, Crewkerne in Bloom, August 2020

Your new talk on Grow The Food You Can't Buy was excellent. we can't stop looking a the seed catalogues to see what new crops we can grow this year. Perennial crops will be very useful! Just weed and pick! Kilmington Garden Club February 2023
