Marilyn left school at 16 and has worked in retail all her life until her retirement when she is a volunteer in Manchester Archives+,; Manchester Jewish Museum Archives; she is a volunteer on a Women's Aid Group; and she is a keen genealogist.
She has catalogued all the collection of theatre programmes and playbills in the Manchester Archives+ collections and is very enthusiastic about them and actually about everything she does.

Also he became Chairman of a School, Chairman of the School's PTA's, Chairman of Parents of Scout and Guide group, host of Race Nights, Charity Auctions and Quizes. On retirement he quadrupled a private business's income within 18 months. He worked for 12 years for the Hilton Hotel in Bradford, Yorkshire for their New Years Eve event as co-coordinator and quadrupled their guest numbers for New Year's eve within 3 year. Became a wedding planner at a private hotel for 10 years. Was in two episodes of a BBC documentary 'A Very British Wedding'.
Allan’s talk is about his very interesting life in Television, Films, Radio, and Theatre. including his very amusing and sad start to life when he was nearly orphaned. Not forgetting what happened when he played “Hooky” from school to appear at the famous “City Varieties “Theatre in Leeds. After retiring he went on to become a wedding planner and event organiser. Today he is a well established radio presenter on Salford City Radio as well as having been a guest reporter on BBC Radio Manchester's 'Over to You'.
