Founded in 1846 and situated between the cities of Nottingham and Derby the Stanton Ironworks was once one of the region's largest industries whose iron and concrete products were known of across the world and at its height in the late 1960s employed upwards of ten thousand people. This is the story of its rise and gradual decline and of course the people who worked there. A well illustrated powerpoint presentation.

About Stephen Flinders

Based at Sandiacre in South Derbyshire I can offer a range of talks covering local, social, industrial and family history themed presentations. Being retired means I can be very flexible when it comes to availability in that I can visit your group morning, afternoon or evening subject of course to availability and even for those last minute call outs. Distance is also no object but bear in mind this will increase the cost of my fee. Most of my presentations are geared to last an hour but can be tailored to suit your needs.
