What was life really like 100 years ago in Downtown Chicago? Gangsters, booze and flappers; were they fact or fiction?
The talk explores each aspect of how the roaring 20s came about and what the catalyst was. Katharine takes you to one of Gatsby’s famous parties wearing an outfit typical of the occasion. She also illustrates her talk by singing some of the songs featured in the film. These include “Putting on the Ritz” and “lets face the music and dance”.
