Details of talks given by Carol Harris
I am an author, business mentor and coach. Much of my work, including my writing, is based on NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and I used to be Chair of the Association for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. My background is in training, HR, management consultancy and publishing. My last employed post was as one of the Directors of the Arts Council of Great Britain. I have run businesses of my own for about 40 years.
My voluntary activities include helping people consider entrepreneurship as an option, running NLP groups for coaches and retired people and also being on the Steering Committee for Wales for the Society of Authors.
I am, or have have been, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultancy and The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and have served on Council or commmittees of both organisations.
My books are mostly on business, but there are also some educational books for chioldren, a humorous series on busines/personal effectiveness and writing, and various others including topics such as traditional pig-keeping, weight management, and amusing memoirs. One of my favourite book reviews said "Bordering on the bonkers, but life-affirming".
My non-work activities have included teaching fencing, showing and judging Afghan Hounds, Indian classical dance, Taiko (Japanese) drumming, keeping pigs and cooking.
I talk on a range of subjects including personal and business skills, NLP, writing and any of the other activities in which I am, or have been, involved.
My guiding principles are simplicity, humour and curiosity.
I live in Wales.
