About Richard Cook

Born and educated in the Vale of Evesham then moving to Warwickshire in my twenties I found my niche in life when some inherited old chairs needed restoring. I watched a Cane Smith at her trade and so was 'hooked' Rush Work, Lloyd Loom, Rushcord and Seagrass followed, teaching myself directly from a book. Restoring, cleaning and polishing the woodwork all became part of the service. With my new found skills and natural ability to communicate at all levels the demonstrations talks and teaching were another step forward. That was over twenty years ago with many an 'odd chair' under the bridge
