My talk will be in two parts. The first part will tell the history of Liverpool from the early 1200's to the modern day. I am sure everyone will find this not just informative but also enjoyable as to how this great city has evolved and how the River Mersey has played such a big part in the success of the city of today. The second part of my talk is about the scouse humour of the people of Liverpool. I will tell short stories and poems all with a humourous side to them and all either by Liverpool people or about Liverpool people. I am sure everyone will have an interesting and enjoyable time and I look forward to presenting my talk.

About Stewart Mcnulty

My name is Stewart McNulty. I am 70 years of age and have been retired for the last 4 years after spending the last 30 years employed on the management side of a world famous lozenge manufacturer in Fleetwood Lancashire. I have a wife, two children and two grandchildren and live in Cleveleys near Blackpool. I am originally from Liverpool but moved up to the Cleveleys area almost 35 years ago.

My duties coming up to retirement included talks on the history of the company to groups including Womens Institute, U3A, Rotary, Provide and many more.

I always enjoyed the talks and enjoyed meeting a wide variety of people.

The talks finished on my retirement and I decided to produce my own talk entitled "A brief history of Liverpool and the humour of its people".
