This in venue talk with power point and covers the fascinating history of patchwork quits, the methods used, unusual fabrics, social, history, starting from the 1600s through to the 1970s and including modern art quilts. The talk also comes with a selection of old quilts for you to study/handle.

Suitable for any group interested in sewing, patchwork, textiles and history.

Jane Cobbett is a tutor and collector of vintage patchwork, based in the West Midlands, she has a passion for old textiles and the methods used to create unusual and beautiful pieces from the smallest Victorian Love Token to full size quilts. Each of her talks come with a power point presentation and a selection of original old quilts for your to study and enjoy. She is also available for 'Hands on Patchwork' a short or full day sewing workshops where a selection of vintage quilts will be available for you to study and then a practical session where several small related projects can be made, these are suitable for all abilities.
