A free & impartial Fraud & Scam awareness session in collaboration with Trading Standards “Friends Against Scams” campaign which aims to protect and prevent people from becoming victims of scams. Each 45 minute session covers the most common types of scams we are seeing at the moment in particular those relating to coronavirus. We share tips on how best to stay safe, explain what you should do if you are approached and how and where to report scams. At the end we open it up for questions and for people to share their top tips and experiences. The main purpose of the session is to generate awareness and to encourage people to support each other.

About Mark Mullally

My name is Mark Mullally and I am the NatWest Community Banker for North London. Whilst I am based in Harrow I cover the whole of the North London area but can of course present countrywide if your group meets via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Part of my role is to raise awareness of, and educate the wider community about, fraud and scam prevention. The presentation explains how scammers identify and approach their targets, the social engineering techniques they use to draw people but most importantly how best to keep yourself from falling victim. I would add that the talk is free, impartial and available to all. You do not need to have a connection with NatWest. It is very much a community minded initiative.
