The Vikings have a reputation for their violent raids upon other countries, but is this the full picture? Viking society was a mixture of the free and slaves; they farmed, were great traders and liked telling stories, they were skilled craftsmen and expert ship builders; they enjoyed board games and had a range of musical instruments.
