I left school with a D and an E at A level. I managed to get into a college of technology to read social sciences. After dropping out of a Masters degree and voluntary work in New Zealand I started a teaching career as a part-time lecturer in a further education college. Recently I retired from teaching at the University of Oxford. This talk is about people, places and experiences along the journey.
