My talk tells the fascinating and entertaining story of the growth of the popular music publishing industry in the 1920's- the sometimes crooked publishers; the well known performers; the 'one hit wonders'; plagiarism; and the wonderful composers and lyricists who created some of the tunes we still treasure today.
