Details of talks given by Herbert Chatters
Two years ago I turned to drink, but all in a very good cause! I instigated the launch of a craft gin with our local distillery to help raise funds for Rotary EndPolioNow. Within that period we have raised over £10,000 and a greater awareness of the need to finally eradicate this dreadful disease. Our first gin - Passionately Purple - reflects how Rotarians feel about ending Polio. It has recently been joined by a new sibling - A Taste of Honey - named in recognition of Salford playwright Shelagh Delaney. Why Purple? What’s the history of gin? What’s Rotary? How has the Polio programme helped fight more recent pandemics? Find out more.
